Somebody working on Android (or hex boot, lol) can hijack this thread if they want.

See... homework stopped my experiments and then my internet went down, xxxx said they could NOT fix it even though I pay them because yyyy supplied the equipment and bandwidth, yyyy says they cant touch it because its xxxx's account. xxxx did say they could sent a tech out and charge me but that the tech wouldnt be able to fix it. So shortly I told them what to do with the billing for this month and now I have a hotspot!

Android will have to wait, homework exploded and I am learning networking from a professor at school. Its not a class, well imprompt class, no credit, and since this guy really knows his stuff I decided to get all the knowledge I can.

We are very pleased to announce the first open source release of Android* 5.0, Lollipop for MinnowBoard MAX.

This version of Android* 5.0, Lollipop is reference code that is ported and optimized for MinnowBoard MAX, a compact and versatile open platform designed for use with a 64-bit Intel® Atom™ E38xx Series SoC. This release uses a 64-bit kernel and a 32-bit userspace, and supports all the MinnowBoard MAX on-board peripherals such as Ethernet, HDMI (digital audio + video), USB host, SATA, I2C+SPI, GPIO, PWM and UART.

Minnowboard MAX provides a powerful and open platform for IoT developers and makers to prototype concepts. Enabling Android* on this platform opens up new possibilities and usages for these developers.

This reference code is intended for developers interested in working with Android* OS on MinnowBoard MAX. However, it does not have all the components to meet the Android* Compatibility requirements for creating a complete Android* tablet or smartphone solution.



Several new features available in this version of Android* 5.0, Lollipop, include:

Digital audio support using HDMI and USB.
Linux console on serial port for debugging purposes.
You can view and interact with the console prompt using USB TTL Serial Cables (FTDI), which is particularly useful when you need to debug issues that affect the video output of the device and you’re unable to interact with it directly.
Android* can be installed on an SDCard, USB Stick or SSD.
Android* Runtime (ART).
Material Design UI.
Bluetooth 4.0 support using an external USB dongle.
SELinux runs in enforcing mode.
User data is encrypted by default.

Bumping this thread.
My friend Larry want to stream a live video feed from a drone. The issue is the the streaming software is Android based. If he could run Android on a CF30 or CF19 it would be great.
He gets into trouble with the install. Anyone want to experiment and help? Create an install iso specific for a CF19 or CF30 if that's possible? I know Android is a kissing cousin of Linux. I'm limited on the software side of things.
He has a thread on NBR about streaming, but I wanted to ask over here. There's much more Linux experience here.

I recently ran ReMix OS/Android x86 (64 bit) on a CF-31A. It is not supposed to run on the A, but did, with limited success.

As soon as I find my spare HDD and carrier I will try it on my CF-31J. I do not want to risk more problems (Ubuntu 16.04...!) with my work PC, nor try a tripple boot.

It will run from a Live Disk, so that is a consideration.

Downloaded the latest Android distro.
based on Android 6.01
Ran it via usb stick on a CF52GUN.
Quick live run looks very good. Acts like my smart phone.
Touchscreen sort of works, but needs calibrated.

I know there is a way to get to terminal to tweak things. I don't know how, nor am I going to tweak it.

I will test that for you. Android did not recognize the Atheros card. I will swap in an Intel 5100 and see what happens.
