Windows 8 possible?
Windows 8 possible?
Wondering if anyone has tried using the windows 7 method to get windows 8 operational on a cf-30. Thanks in advance.

Re: Windows 8 possible?
Did it on a CF30 MK1 (CF30CCS80BM) with no issues, other than my Build 9200 needing activation... I also did it on a MK2 (CF30FCS80AM) and the "Brightness" control through W8 worked GREAT. I used all the Vista and W7 drivers...
If it isn't broken, take it apart to see why it is working!!

Re: Windows 8 possible?
Did you still have to update the BIOS to get the touch screen to work.

Re: Windows 8 possible?
Looks like windows 8 works GREAT on a cf-30. Ive completed my first rig out of 16 today and all hardware appears to work very well. I DID upgrade the bios to vista version fyi. Just in case someone wants to take advantage of the inexpensive 40 dollar upgrades.
Re: Windows 8 possible?
Wow! sounds like there is hope for getting Windows 8 Pro working right on the MK2copracer1990 wrote:Did it on a CF30 MK1 (CF30CCS80BM) with no issues, other than my Build 9200 needing activation... Did you install Windows 8 system builder on a clean hard drive, or did you do an upgrade?
If upgrade did you go Vista to Windows 8 directly or did you install Vista, then Windows 7 upgrade, then Windows 8 Pro upgrade to get everything working right?
Re: Windows 8 possible?
I just did an upgrade from Win 7 and the only thing I had to do was delete Microsoft Security Essentials (built into Win 8 apparently) and I removed the Toshiba Bluetooth. The built in Bluetooth drivers work at least well enough for my printer.
Got Windows 8 32bit working perfectly
Had some trouble with the
Intel Dynamic Power Performance Management driver (ETM) when I tried a clean install of Windows 8. The darn Setup file wouldn't execute giving me a compatibility error.
Then I ran into slow text input response only in the desktop version of IE 10. found out the Fujitsu TouchPad driver was making Internet Explorer go all spastic. So now I am on the lookout for an updated touchpad driver while I use the default ps/2 mouse driver that windows loaded.
Only way I found around the ETM driver was to install windows 7 pro, do not activate it, then install the ETM driver only, no other drivers or software, and then upgrade to windows 8 and install a few of the remaining drivers and software packages.
Hopefully someone out there will figure out a way to do a clean install of windows 8. It seems perfect for the touchscreen, even without the multitouch.
