Re: Android on ToughBook

Its not a command line interface is what I mean, but that was the old iso, this Android 4.4-r2 gets to the command prompt but then stops.

If it was linux I would think the xorg wasnt running. I will do some research and see what I can come up with. It may take a few days.

Re: What do you guys use your Toughbooks for?

My CF-30 accompanies me to college every day and does everything I ask of it and more. Gotta say all the other students in my classes give me admiring looks, probably because they haven't seen a real man's laptop before! Yeah, I was using my 19, the one I carry the most and I heard a mumbled commen...

Re: OS X

I wish I could help, but all I did was load the OS on the unit, these were the Mac's that were just a screen and keyboard. The OS was on a dvd and it slid into the side. I had never touched a Mac before, and I have never used one since. We couldnt open the Mac's, it voided the contract. So I avoided...

Re: OS X

I used to work in computer dept of a large business, imaging/ erasing etc. Imaging Mac drives was always been a bit tricky, even going into Mac's! The stock images were very tuned to the hardware. If the dude building the image screwed up it really caused me problems. (certain images for certain dep...

Re: Toughbook Part out and other stuff.

ADOR,

Do you have the screen edge covers for a CF-19? I have the ones that stick out, one is broken, I want the smooth ones from a later model. That broken edge is the only thing wrong with this TB, except of course its not i5 powered. :)

Re: chroot (sandbox) your browser?

I rebuild my systems so often it is not a concern, but have you looked into selinux, and the package "harden". I have just found that one of our professers here at school would like to make a hacking team, he deals with security stuff. When I found out learn stuff from him I will relate it...

Re: I thik that I broke my Ubuntu GUI!!!

Cool, I am glad you got it fixed. I tend to break things in a big way, so I have gotten in the habit of backing my data up. Its also how I learned to fix Linux. Speaking of Learning Linux, a friend just showed me this: *****edit removed link / reviews indicate it is a unfavorable product, so I cant ...
