Can anyone help me with a set of restore disks for a CF-28PCJGEPMBKB ? I picked it up complete, including factory GPS - except no OS. Thanks in advance.

Re: Restore disks for CF-28PCJGEPMBKB ?
The normal set that I have for w2000/xp will not work
You have a rare NT/w2K model
If you are good at software ,I beleve there is a post here on changing the iso file in disk 1 to allow loading w2000 from the w2K/xp disk
Had to mod it to load on my cf-18 mk-2 as it was a strange model # and it worked
There is no way to tell for sure if it will in your case though
Perfectly legal as you have a w2K coa on this model

Re: Restore disks for CF-28PCJGEPMBKB ?
I picked up a CF-28PCJGEPMBKB (on the bottom label) or CF-28PCJGEPM (on the Bios page) complete except for operating system which, the COA sticker said, was for Windows 2000 Pro. Another member of this forum suggested it probaby was a Mk.2 so I downloaded and burned a CD from the appropriate .iso file. On running Disc 1, it first said “Starting Windows Millenium Emergency Boot”, followed by “Device Name: MSCD000”, “Transfer Mode: Programmed I/O”, “Number of Drives: 1” and then “Does not support this model.” At no time was I given an opportunity to choose between the two OSs on the set. I looked at the CD I created and the files look ok, including directories for W2K and WXPPRO. Someone on NBR said it indeed was a Mk.2 but would not restore from the dual-boot XP/200 CD's but needed an Mk.2. Win200 only CD. Anybody have one?
Thanks in advance
Brian

Re: Restore disks for CF-28PCJGEPMBKB ?
You can modify disk one as discribed here
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=744
I was sucessful modding a cf-18 mk-2
Or you need to find an OEM windows 2000 disk, use the key that you have on your cf-28 , and manualy load the panasonic drivers

Thanks Tomcat57,
I tried the modification at your link but, when I opened Disk1, there wasn't an "automain.bat" file. There was an autoexec.bat file which began with "echo off" and "Prompt$P$G" but didn't have any "rcv_os check" etc. lines. I have a "spare" valid XP install disk and COA. Can't I just install it instead of Win2K?

Re: Restore disks for CF-28PCJGEPMBKB ?
That is a great way of going
There really are not too many drivers to download for your model, so in your case the restore disks are not that important
