CF-29NTQGZBM Linux Mint Mate 17.3 Issues

I recently installed Linux Mint Mate 17.3 on my CF-29. I currently am having the following problems:
- Wifi does not connect through Network Manager, it continuously asks for my password
Hangs up on restart, I have to physically do a hard shut down.
Touch pad is EXTREMELY slow, and the mouse is operates on crack speed with a side of meth and triple clicks EVERYTHING
No Sound.

Touchpad speed is typical in a CF-29 without a psmouse tweak.
What I would do:
In terminal
#useful to keep you sane while using the touch pad.
In terminal

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf
#Any text editor works. In fact I usually use nano since gedit is not always included.
Type "options psmouse resolution=400" #in the empty file. (No quotes) Next time you boot the touch-pad will be fine. The xset thing above won't be necessary. Remember to save.
Then I would start looking for a 3945 wireless card. I think your slow boots are network related. IOW Mint 17.3 not playing well with the 2915. After I go to the barn I will verify the card in this 29N here.
I personally like the XFCE desktop as it's lighter on resources than MATE. Just saying.

Turned out to be MX14 with Atheros Card. I'll find a Mint install.
Also I made an edit in the psmouse line above. (removed X11)

Mint 17 with 2915 the difference between yours and mine is at the bottom. What it means or how to fix it is the question. At this point changing cards is not looking like the issue. Ignore that part of my first post.

Hmm do you have it duel booted? If so I'm wondering if that makes a difference. I only have Linux on it. That may be something too.
I guess my other question is, is there a better distro than mint mate that works with the tbs better? (Read that as less issues). Primarily need this machine for paperwork, email, HAM radio programming, would like to add GPS to the system and mapping software (not a requirement, would be nice tho). That's about the extent of it.

My favorite lately has been MX-14.4 Linux which I run in about everything....including CF-53.
And yes it's dual booted only because I didn't have enough caddies at the time. This computer runs wireless fine on MX-14.4. 2915 card.
mklym is using MX-15....new install on CF-29MK4.
Did you try xset m 8 1? That and the psmouse tweak also work on MX-14.4.
I have a post or two here about using .wine for gps. Foxtrot GPS works o.k. (Linux not .wine)
I do some radio programming, the only thing I have not used Linux for.

Ok So I just got a chance to log on to the computer and tried running the commands that you stated earlier and this was the result:

~ $ sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf
[sudo] password for :
sudo: gedit: command not found
So I am not sure what to do or go at the moment. I am new to linux so please be patient, haven't used command line in decades... lol

So did xset m 8 1 #speed up the touch pad?
Retry with

sudo nano /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf
#nano is a clunky text editor
Cut and paste "options psmouse resolution=400" into the blank file. "NO QUOTES [ctrl x] Answer y hit [enter] (to save) re-boot. Go slow read the stuff on the bottom for edification and amusement.
Option is sudo apt-get install gedit (not neccesary, any text editor works.)
