Live and learn...

So bought a Mk3 with a bios password thinking I could of reset it but no matter what tried it wouldn't work. I did plug my HDD from my Mk2 and it boots up to Win7 with no issues. So- I now have a Mk3 but it doesn't have WiFi :wtf:

I decided to use this as parts for now and swapped the Gobi card into my Mk2- It has no Sim so I will have to find a good deal so I can have G3 service (can I use any cell provider?). It also came with a spare battery (can i recondition it?) and 2GB of Ram (can I use it on the Mk2?). I will put the Mk3 away or use as a paper weight. :mad: :cussing: :help:

UPDATE- had some time on my hands so swapped in the 2GB ram from the M3 into my Mk2- works great and can see an improvement in the Mk2 (I know have total of 4GB). going to research some more on the GOBI...

Did the seller state it had a bios pass? If so.....welcome to the club,I bought 3 of the darned things once......once. If not then I would be raising the roof with him. The bios pass is unbreakable on mk2 and mk3.

yes he did, I should of researched a bit more, I thought it could of been bypassed. It came with WWAN(sp?) card that I put on my Mk2 as well as 2GB ram. It boots up just fine just no wifi (I thnk its shut off in the BIOS)

It is,you can use a pcimia card for wifi.

How much? And I just got a 300 hour mk3 :D

There are a cupla lads looking for parts on NBR. Screen and cables?

I have one of these with no mobo and will keep it intact....unless someone wants the complete enchilada. All it needs is a mobo and it's a KIT. ROFL

On the subject of parts....I deal with a guy here in MN who has several doa units he wants to sell,I'm talking to him on Monday and will have him email me a list.

Just bought another Mk3 so will most prob be selling the Mk2 and use the other Mk3 for parts or sell it off too...
