So I bought this-

https://catalog-retail.amazon.com/abis/ ... P&qid=&sr=

but when I installed the computer wouldn't boot. I removed and put the original in- no problem. looks to be the right one but maybe its for a Mk2 or Mk3? Not sure...

I have a Mk1...

I was thinking the same thing, sucks because I was really excited about adding this...

What has been the best ram for the CF used... I didn't want to do the "used" ram from ebay but might have to as Crucial ram is like $75 :pat:

I did some research and it seems that this is the wrong memory for the Mk1. The Mk1 uses this one -
2048MB-533MHz DDR2-533 PC2-4200, 200p SODIMM, 1.8v
found here-
http://www.memorystock.com/memory/Panas ... 33MHz.html

anyone deal with this company?

Here lately I have had several sticks of used ram that "should" of worked but won't for some reason. Then stick them off into a non-toughbook and they work fine. This was in the CF-T8 Mk4, It has 2 GB on board but out of the 12 sticks of ram I had ranging from 512 mb to 2gb would not let the unit boot at all. Also had this happen on a Newer T7.

So is it due to the bios? It reads the original 1GB just fine but not the new out the pack 4GB (2x2GB)... strange..

Are you installing both of the 2GB at the same time ? Maybe just try one 2GB stick.

Could be bad memory. Could be fake memory.
Do you have a way to test it in another notebook? I think there is a program called Memtest that people use.

Post a photo of the actual memory you have.
Maybe it is high density...High density ram is cheaper, but very finicky to get to work.
