No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
If your touchscreen is dead will it still show up in the BIOS ? My 19D I just got does not show up in the BIOS so I am guessing if a touchscreen is dead that it will not show up in the BIOS. I do have 1 device asking for a driver...USB. My guess its something to do with the touch, think I read this somewhere.

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
Look for it in device manager under HID. If you have a blown fuse the OS will not "see" the TS nor load the driver. My 19C under Human Interface Devices shows Fujitsu Touch Panel (USB)(has a working ts).
Yep....made an edit here the MK 1 and MK2 are different. Sorry 'bout confusing the issue.
Jeff...it's fixable:)
The USB devices don't show up in bios on CF-30Mk1 19Mk1 from my personal experience.

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
New info just in (to my head anyway). Mark 2 CF-19 TS has options in bios for touchscreen, tablet, auto.
I'm thinking you have fuse issues. The bios should see and register the TS at each session. The fuse could be right by the plugs for the screen. Under KB.
What's your [device manager] show under hid?

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
It's there under HID Fujitsa Touch Panel (USB) but farther down under other device...yellow USB Device. Now I have read this many times this same problem over at NBR but do you think I can find it now...no and it was always the MK1 with this same problem.Sadlmkr wrote: What's your [device manager] show under hid?

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
Blair,
That's o.k. man, take it easy. I didn't expect it to be right.
When the OS fires up it searches for devices. It can not find the Touchscreen hardware on the board so therefore does not activate the Touchscreen related portion of the bios. The reason and I have discussed this with Teo is that you have a blown fuse. The panel could be faulty also but the fuse must be fixed first.
I'm going to try and quote Teo.
My Mark 1 does not have Touchscreen in bios. My Mark 2 does have as someone in NBR stated.
So roll keyboard back. Remove silver? access panel and check the fuses near the white plug. Then Teo can tell you how to solder it.
Hope this long winded thing helps.
Merry Christmas
J
Edit: The fuses teo described were for a CF-30 MK 1. I think the CF-19 will be similar but I don't have the numbers.

andI think it is only beside the connector on the mbo. at the top where the LCD harness hooks up and has a little acces panel on it. Yes! an ohmeter will do the job and if it was blown up you can piggyback a zero ohm resistor on it If you don't have an exact fuse.
I found the fuse mentioned I believe but did not consider myself competent enough to do the job on a clients computer. My own machine I would have tried it.Jeff,
I've guess that you have damaged mbo. fuse. Check F9(2A). This is a voltage supply line for TS pcb board on mbo. It is very tiny that has mark "N" like green color beside the dual layer connector on mbo.

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
Well I may have a fix for it....well kinda. The one that the touch does not work on is a 19D but I also have a 19C which has the 18 top/lcd on it which the touch does work but thats all that works on the 18 top so my next job is to switch the top/LCD from the 19D and put it on the 19C. If the touchscreen is good then it should work on the 19C. Confused yet

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
Went to a structure fire (total loss) plus a few oak trees ......responded at 0500. I'll suck down another quart of coffee and then I will take my Mark 2 apart long enough to clear up the issue:
I'll let you know.
That HID there says to me the panel needs repaired. What I want to find out is if I unplug the TS harness from the board if the TS in bios disappears on a Mark 2.
Something we need to know. The fuse deal may be wrong. I have fuse on the brain as I just fought one all day Saturday.
Apples Mark 1
Oranges Mark 2
Later,
J

Re: No touchscreen option showing in BIOS
CF-19FHGAXAM. OPENED THE LID UN-PLUGGED THE TOUCHPANEL. TOUCHSCREEN STILL SHOWS UP IN BIOS AND HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE SHOWS FUJITSU TOUCH.... (USB).
IT'S BACK TO THE FUSE.
I WAS HOPING IT WOULDN'T SHOW INDICATING BAD TOUCHPANEL. BUMMER.
