LAPTOP IS DOA DOES NOT TURN ON Top cover and Bottom pan have major scratches
Well I got it today and fired it up and all I got was a very bright white screen but I noticed that the hdd light was flashing telling me something was running so I hooked it up to a external screen...XP ALL LOADED....COOL kinda . Something is missing and I don't mean the doors or all the missing keys. Can you spot what is missing...I spent over an hour trying to load the drivers because I figured I had the wrong ones because I loaded W7 on it then it hit me...WHAT THE F@#$ Check out the picture OF MY CF-19

No speaker on the display bezel => cf-18 display? Believe Teo got a hybrid like this working.
I had an eye on that one too. Let me know if you want to trade off the hd caddy, cuz I bought one from him without a caddy (I think, didn't arrive yet ....)
I have not had much time to work on it yet but my guess the video line is broke or something. I know the the screen is very bright just nothing on it . Have a keyboard somewhere around here just need a few covers and doors which I don't have.

Since it is obvious that someone has been into the screen area, I would reopen it and check the wiring to the screen. It is possible that they did not hook everything back up. Kinda looks like a FrankenBook.
12 CF-29's MK5, One CF-18 MK5, One CF-19 MK1, 4 CF-51's MK3, 7 CF-51 MK2, one CF-74 MK3, One CF-30 Mk 3 and one CF-52 MK2. Wait, is that all I have? MUST HAVE MORE!
These ones might of been some special order because all the ones that they had were the same way. This weekend I will pull it apart and see whats going on. Now I just need to find my spare keyboard...it only has 8 missing keys

Ok! I will answer what wrong with that. The screen is obvious from CF-18. It will work if you change the LCD harness from the oem cf-19 together with the TS pcb board if that is a ts model. Blair! If you are handy enough. You can rewire the connector that goes to the mbo. connector. The schematic is available on Rob's collection to download. Same thing if it is a digitizer model. I say they just placed the cf-18 panel completely without realizing that it will not work properly.
Also if you close the lid, I mean when you fold down the lcd, it will not match the hole below. Misalign to the lower base. What I do before is I've taken out the silver cover below to make it wider and it will snap in place with the lcd bezel.
This seller had about 12 of them over 3 days on auction and this one was the only one that did not work. I have a 18 mk1 and 5 and will see if the guts look the same in the 19.

I just used the restore disk with no problems but when I start it the external screen comes on and I see the Panasonic splash screen the the windows xp screen then the blue setting up windows screen then the external screen turns off ?? Ok so I tried to install xp oem and the external screen will not come on at all but when I use the windows 7 home there is no problem at all. Also when I had the bottom off I found that the rear USB was unplugged. Will pull apart the screen tonight to see whats up with it.

I have not took the lid apart yet but will tonight but did find out that the touch screen works , was cleaning it up today when I noticed the pointer was moving, works great too. When I had the base off I noticed that the sound board was unhooked so now have sound...headphones.
