GPS not working after latest windows/defender updates?

anyone else having issue with their internal (not sierra) GPS not working after latest windows/defender updates?

been bringing in our 31's to update and the GPS is going wonky. sees data, but never gets a location

tried "reflashing" with the ubx / DOS script, but it fails on step 1

almost like its being blocked

Interesting, i'm also having issues with my 31 Mk3+dGPS since I reinstalled Win8.1!

You can send me one of those broken ublox units to test ..

That had me thinking. Try swapping hard drives between working//non working units.

that wont cause any odd windows/bitlocker issues?
i do have several in front of me of the same model

If bitlocker is disabled on both machines there should not be any problems with just swapping 2 working drives..

Get into bios and verify everything on the security page is disabled.
I do it all the time. Sometimes you end up having to reactivate windows, but that is simple.

I switched the GPS from "internal" to the sierra wireless/Verizon gps....now its working.

something in the latest windows or java update it killin these things

well-- back to square one.... getting some more of these not working

tried the GPS viewer- It shows data coming in (lots of 99,99,99,99,99's mixed in there.)
it will pop up about 5-10 satellites on the screen for about 1 second, then disappear for about 5 seconds (repeat)--

never gets location, shows ZERO sats in use, and Status: Invalid

I have been sending these things in for "repair" and they put in new GPS modules...so far most have come back, I run the UBX thing on them to get NMEA, and they work.....buuuuuuuuuut, I got one back yesterday, and it was not cooperating.

the latest updates I have done: win updates, latest java, anyconnect 4.4, BIOS (intel security fix), and latest Mawarebytes.
Note that I have one in here now that has not had those updates yet--and its not working--even fully removed malwarebytes.

its almost like something is interfering with the GPS---maybe not all of ot, but some of the signal or connection to the device somehow.

I reaaaly need to find out what's going on.

keeps repeating (amongst the rest of the data and 99,99,99;s...)
