CF-30 MK3 doesn't recognize SSD (sometimes)
CF-30 MK3 doesn't recognize SSD (sometimes)
Hi.
I have a CF-30 MK3 and a MK2. Both are equipped with a SSD. The MK3 has a Intenso 128gb, the MK2 a SanDisk 120gb. When I swap the 120gb SanDisk to my MK3 it doesn't recognize it sometimes. On Boot is fine (bios finds it), next boot doesn't work ... I first thought it may be the caddy, but both caddys are fine. Any ideas why my 120gb SanDisk isn't recognized all times? I haven't set the bios to default yet. Thanks in advance!

Re: CF-30 MK3 doesn't recognize SSD (sometimes)
I've heard of Chinese caddies causing that.
Do I have it correct?
Sandisk works sometimes in the mk3 and always in the mk2?
Intenso works always in both the mk2 and mk3?
What OS?
NTFS format?

The question is what operating system are you running? (as Shawn queried)
MK2 and MK3 have different hardware and if for instance you are running M$ OS the disks are swap-able (sort of) but you will get errors or blue screens.
M$ = Micro$oft
OS = Operating system

Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Re: CF-30 MK3 doesn't recognize SSD (sometimes)
OS is WinXP. But that doesnt matter because the BIOS isn't detecting the SanDisk SSD in the MK3. If it's detected the system boots without problems or blue screens. I'm currently thinking that the SanDisk SSD is incompatible ...
Re: CF-30 MK3 doesn't recognize SSD (sometimes)
Did you try swapping the drives into the other caddies.
If Sandisk is in caddy A and Intenso is in caddy B, Try putting Sandisk in caddy B

Yes, tried it. Same "fault". Tried also a non-SSD, which was perfectly found in bios. Only the SanDisk has this problem

Firmware update for Sandisk?

Both caddies are the same.
I'll check the bios Version later (currently driving in my car and not at home). I will post it later. Thanks anyway so far
