video/webcam files
video/webcam files
OK, our church is using a Microsoft life cam studio to record things, services, etc. They had been using windows movie maker to convert the video to DVD from .wmv files. Well i got tired of attempting to make the videos there and barrowed one of there laptops (two they have, both celeron/vista set ups). and it takes 2-3 hours for it to complete. Then another couple to burn. Im using my laptop with no dvd drive to convert(takes no time), but then go back to the issue of burning to DVD. Any suggestions? maybe try another OS on there laptop? A different software to convert?. Im at a loss and between work, and summer vacation with the kids...Time is something that hasnt been on my side.
Re: video/webcam files
Video conversion takes lots of horsepower. A Celeron will struggle.
If I had to use a laptop, I would go with a CF52 with the onboard ATI graphics. Bump up the ram also. 4gb would work with 32bit OS. 8gb with 64bit OS.
I have used this in the past on a Win7 32 bit machine.

Re: video/webcam files
I might have to give that a try, The laptop im using at the moment is an asus with a dedicated graphics, i7 and 16gb ram....it does it good, but the problem is getting it to a DVD, i have an external DVD bay, but need an extra software to go about it. win 10 downfall

Re: video/webcam files
The i7 is good enough.
Try a USB DVD?
I convert the vids to VOB files and then burn the VOB files to a DVD later.

Re: video/webcam files
I have used Handbrake and VLC. The newest one to paste four short videos together was OpenShot. (Linux here but they claim to work with Windows) All are open source.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Re: video/webcam files
I have a DVD from Australia that is PAL. I need to convert it to NTSC.
Been too fatigued lately. Maybe this weekend now that my CF 52 mk4 with ATI is up and running.
I need to see if I remember HOW to do the conversion.
