Screen is bright and shiny so ignoring that for now. Touch works fine.
So what can we do here.......rummage rummage.....ahhhhhh a custom-toughbooks gps complete plus a second custom-toughbooks board. Thanks to Shawn?
So after four antenna attempts (THEY ALL WORKED WEAKLY)I settled on the WWAN corner location for this unit. No sled or WWAN corner on this unit but rummage rummage here we go.
1. Installed WWAN corner without the antenna.
2. A little grinding and the gps antenna fits.
point one: the tip of the antenna touches nothing.
point two: hot glue seals it from the bottom.
point three: a foot from a CF-something (51?) seals it from the top. Super glue here. The diameter matches nicely.
3. Antenna lead is taped down across inside of lid. Following existing WLAN antennas takes it inside the bottom case. I lucked out and did not have to pull the keyboard. This is more of a pain then it seems getting all the wires into the rubber gizmo.
Pull the hard drive and plastic cage. Connect c-t (custom-toughbooks) white cable and slide it under the silver bracket.
Double stick the blue board down. Time out here while I boot the CF-29 from a Linux LiveCD. Boots dandy, to MX14.4.
Important Point: At this time the bios thinks it has a gps. Something to do with grounding one wire from white cable to the lower case. I remembered this from NBR GPS thread. It's not the same but it ACTS the same. IOW no gps installed anywhere and bios shows gps....it must be the case. (play on words not intended)

Very neat install for me....then I added a bunch more tape. That's a 32Gb USB in the c-t board. edit not shown except in bios end edit
16Gb shorty inside the back door. (empty for now) just to show it in bios. (or did I?)
Enough jabbering here is a CUSTOM toughbook. Now at 20 hours.
