Soooo....... I'm currently waiting to board a flight out of Abu Dhabi, and as i get to the gate I get pulled for a bag search by security, the guy that checks my carry-on looks at the underside of my CF30 and asks me what it is, I tell him its my laptop and he replies very earnestly "But sir, that cannot be a laptop" well..... it is..... "But sir, it doesnt look like one, and its HEAVY!"......

Supervisor overhears, turns around as I flip it over (it was laying on its lid), he spots the toughbook badge and says "Ahh! Toughbook! the army uses them! are you military?"

First dude didnt believe me untill I opened it up!

LMAO. I had funny looks myself this afternoon, our neighbours were having a BBQ party and I had my 19 Mk6 at hand.

Just yesterday I sat at a pub with my CF19 and some guy looks at it and my Sonim phone and asks if I just got back from work, what I do for a living, etc...
I did mostly finish a work day by that time and was just looking to have a pint, not have to explain myself.

Maybe that guy hasn't seen a real rugged laptop before. Not made from ABS plastic like everything else these days.

I suppose it didnt help that I was standing there caring a laptop painted in olive drab, wearing a camo cap and USAF issue boots.....
