Well yes I am condused, it's happened before. I expected this MK1 would need a IDE drive, but pulling out the caddy it looks identical to my MK3 mosel with SATA. I pulled a caddy from one MK3 with WIN 7 and popped it into the MK1 and it booted up and ran fine. What am I missing ? anything?

CF30 MK1 with IDE hard disk ??
Re: CF30 MK1 with IDE hard disk ??
Not missing anything. Just confused.
Caddies swap from CF-30MK1 up to and including CF-31 (all Marks). Drivers are a little different is all. W7 usually sorts it out.

Re: CF30 MK1 with IDE hard disk ??
Thanks Guys, I just assumed being that it has a IDE interface that it would need that older style drive type. It looks after itself by dealing with the SATA drive/caddy. Seems to all work fine.
Thanks Again, Steve
