Bluetooth Not Ready

has anybody had problems trying to work with a bluetooth mouse. When I start bluetooth manager it says bluetooth not ready. Does anybody know what is causing this
CF-73 (MK5) Windows XP, Intel 2.0, 80 gig HD. WiFi, Intel 2915 A/B/G, 1 Gig Ram, DVD/CDRW

Is this the first time you have used a bluetooth device
Is bluetooth enabled in the bios
Is there an icon on the taskbar that lets you add a device

Yes this is the first time I did remember windows updating the driver I have an icon in the system tray and a lightning bolt for bluetooth switch indicator on I will check the bios and let you know
