CF-30 MK3 Bios 3.00L20 upgrade procedure

Hi, I'm new here. I have a MK3 (Canada) CF-30LCQZ5AM with GPS and WWAN (Issue).

My bios installed is 3.00L16. I have the update for 3.00L20 but have no clue on how to upgrade it.

I have USB bootable and an other one with Hirent Bood CD 15.2.

Also, I have installed a Gobi2000 in my sled, it seems that the HP un-2420 Gopbi2000 bought is not compatible.

Could anybody let me know how to upgrade the bios and the good gobi2000 for North-America (Canada) unlocked.

This is something I never used because in Canada it cost a lot for a plan but the way I understand you will need one from a Toughbook to work. Shawn or one of the other members should be able to help you out. What province are you from in Canada...I am in NB

You want a Gobi 2000 card with an SKU number of 1100984.

For the Gobi card with the SKU 1100984 you should install the driver first…

This package already contains the firmware update 72-VT420-2.

Then install the software…

I'm from Quebec. I have ordered a new Gobi2000. The SKU 1100984 shows to be for a CF-31. Let's hope it's going to work after.

I will sell my un2420 to get rid of it since it's not working at all with the cf-30.

My MK3 is only 1010 Hrs. with OEM Gps and 250 Gb HDD under Win7 32bits.

I will keep you informed when it's received and installed.

You will need a bootable flash drive to drop the bios file on. The program to make a bootable drive is HPUSBDisk. Also needed the dos start up files all below...

The bios update you mentioned I've never been able to locate. Where did you find it or could you send it to me?

That SKU has been used in CF-19, CF-30 and CF-31, as I was informed by Panasonic Canada support. Most of my last post was cut and paste from the email reply I got from PCS.
If you still have doubts, send and email to PCS and ask them.

I have ordered a Gobi2000 yesterday compatible with CF19/30 and asked for the SKU you told me since it was not showing on the pic.

Regarding my bios, I was able to upgrade it to 3.00L20 but the embedded controller was not updated and is still 3.00L16...
