Re: bios password
As far as I know there is no way to remove the password on a CF-30MK3. One of our forum members "Rusty" did but he had to remove / replace the chip with a new one.

Locked CF-30's are MK3 with the AMI encrypted bios. No work around yet foundRDJacob wrote:What marks are these CF-30 locked units? I might be of some help.

Re: bios password
well we can add 4 more cf-30 mk3's to the pile of locked bios. I pulled them from ebay at a very good price and they are like new. I will be trying to find a solution. anybody comes up with something please let me know.
thanks, chuck

The ones you bought, is anything disabled. I was lucky , every thing works fine. Touchscreen needs some work but it's OK.

Re: bios password
Try a Linux live cd or a Linux bootable USB stick
Life will beat you into submission.
Re: bios password
Mk2 drive in a mk3 might not boot or bsod, like he said try live cd mint 15 or unbuntu 10.10.

I know that a mk3 drive works in a mk2. The hardware is not very different
