Directly from the CF-31 operator manual:

Do Not Place This Product on Unstable Surface
If balance is lost, this product may fall over or drop, resulting in an injury.

Avoid Stacking
If balance is lost, this product may fall over or drop, resulting in an injury.

Notice they mention no danger of damaging the laptop, but it WILL result in an injury. Watch your feet!

I almost broke my nose from my CF-31 once because it was propped up on my legs/knees while I was in bed browsing the web and it fell forward and the lid hit my nose.

Gave me a bloody nose and almost broke it.
