Just started working on a CF-74ECE03BM. I am looking for any information on the unit.
It appears that the maximum RAM is 2GB and the CPU is a 2GHz Duo-core. It also appears that this unit will support a luminescent keyboard and I would be interested in locateing one. This particular unit is equipped with a touch-screen. It is presently running XP but I have considered loading Win7 or 8, has anyone had any experience with this?
Does anyone know if this unit will support GPS or if one the the aftermarket GPS boards will work in it?
I do have the manual for it.

Re: CF-74E Info needed
It should take 4GB of memory (2 x 2GB). Believe that's a Mk2, I've found Win7 runs nice on all CF-74 but had to fiddle with some Vista drivers to get it right on a Mk2. It is possible to mod in an emissive keyboard (from CF-29/30/31) but it's not plug-n-play. No experience with GPS on this.

Re: CF-74E Info needed
I would like to hear more. I was thinking of trying the 20 pin mod on a GPS card I have in the WWAN slot.

Here's some pics of the lid of a 74GCE01BM.
This looks a lot like the wireless cards on CF-29 and etc. It would be easy to tap into the correct wires. Now we need Teo to tell us which ones.
Hey Teo.
I'm thinking engine in the lid and antenna under the keyboard bezel as a start. Or antenna MAY fit in place of WWAN antenna.
I believe the non WWAN units have the connector installed. Anyone have a pic. I sold my E.
Jeff...distracted again...
p.s. does anyone have a 74 top lid. This one has a hole in it.
Edit added top two pictures.

Re: CF-74E Info needed
A lot of useful information here!
But is it SATA or PATA. I know the later models were SATA, but not if all were.
