Re: Bandwidth stuff

wow, you did some bit/byte number crunching in there ! and with 3 decimals precision :P is DSL the only choice in you area ? because no matter how fast it would get (VDSL2, etc) it will always be an asymmetric connection, and your upload (our download) will be one fifth of your download (our upload)...

Re: Equipment upgrade needed! Details inside. $1 donation

that's a different beast (x3650 M3 version) - it should have twice the memory bandwidth (DDR3, 1333Mhz, QPI - new architecture), six-core CPUs, and more importantly, should lower you power bill (32nm, Integrated power gates: Allows reduction to idling cores at near-zero power ) it will cost more, i...

Re: TBT CF-19 Guide

that's good news :D.
I'm still waiting to get one (MC7710) below $100, but the alerts I've set on ebay for that, still show over $140 listings
Did you have to do any pin21 mod, or had any driver issues ? I want to use one in my 19mk4 (using one Fujitsu Gobi2000 now).

Re: Equipment upgrade needed! Details inside. $1 donation

are you sure about the RAM type ? if it's indeed the X3650 from the ebay link from your post, then it is DDR 2 667 FB-DIMM, because the Intel 5000P chipset only supports DDR2 (FB-DIMM/Registered/ECC). http://www-07.ibm.com/systems/includes/content/x/hardware/rack/x3650/downloads/XSO03034USEN.pdf htt...
