Re: What was I thinking... AKA Windows 10
Update to my update- turns out the WWAN card was bad. I still have Win 10 on a second hard drive. I will give it a go when I have a few spare minutes just to see if that was the issue of if the software still will not play nice. For now, I am perfectly content using the OS that I know works.

The MC7750 is CDMA for any carrier but Verizon, but is 4G capable for them. (Same thing with the MC7700 for AT&T.) Verizon requires a SIM for all 4G...though the thing REALLY likes running in 3G mode anyways...waste of a SIM so far.

Re: Toughbook carnage
Best thing to ever happen to a Dell. And who knows, maybe they were shipping it with a loaded Glock in the same box?

Re: What was I thinking... AKA Windows 10
OK last straw with this thing came while attempting to fix #6. The VZ Access Manager does NOT like Win 10. It seems to run fine, but the connection to the WWAN card (MC7750) is flakey as all get out. Half the time it cannot even find the card, other times it cannot initialize the device, and the fin...

Re: WTB Smartcard reader for CF-19 Mk3
Sweet, I could totally use a fire truck. Parking might be a bit of an issue, but I'm sure a quick blast on the siren would fix that. Lol

Re: WTB Smartcard reader for CF-19 Mk3
Shawn wins the Google scavenger hunt...again. That's what I was looking at. Jeff- A CF19P lower could work if you want to save the disassembly. PM with details Kerry- That's pretty much what I had before. The card reader fits with door closed, but not with the card inserted. People love to mess with...

Re: WTB Smartcard reader for CF-19 Mk3
I can't seem to locate the original listing I found to steal...err borrow a picture. Basically, it replaces the entire PCMCIA & express card cage if I was looking at the pictures right. And that is assuming there is no additional boards or wiring. I was hoping someone here would be familiar with...

WTB Smartcard reader for CF-19 Mk3
I have looked on the bay and only found one for about $80, which seems about double or more compared to other models. Is it because they are hard to find? This disturbs my notoriously cheap sensibilities, so I thought I might try here and see if anyone had one laying around. I am hoping to find some...
