CF-52 disassembly manual

#1 Post by dan95gst »

Hi everyone, new to the forum.

Ive got a few (read 20) toughbooks i have to get prepped for deployment at my job. However a previous systems admin decided they need bios passwords and decided NOT to make a note of that in his password document that he made for us when he left 6 months ago.

Ive found online that i need to reset a jumper on the bios next to the battery, however i cant get the damned thing apart. i know its just 1-2 screws holding me up, but with 20 of these to do, i need some serious help.

If you can provide a service manual for me i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
-Dan

appreciate the manual.

helped me get it apart. however pulling the battery off the bios for a half hour didnt clear the password.

anyone know of like a master password for these things? if that is even available?

You could try killcmos http://www.download3k.com/Install-KILLCMOS.html
or this one http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd
you might also want to read Teo's thread (CF-30) where he had a password in his bios and check the things he tried http://www.toughbooktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=393
Good Luck

This has been discussed many times before with no luck I don't think... I've personally never had luck on CF-18's, 19's or 29's...
