In my post about using the SATAIDE adapter and installing in the Caddy.
I just DESTROYED an adapter.
After all the checking I did about squeezing the HD back into the caddy, I MISSED the fact that with the 90 deg. brace in the top plate of the caddy it stresses the SATA adapter to the point that it will crack the top lip of the adapter causing the connections to break loose from the HD.
I repeat, remove the 90 deg. brace from the top plate.
Without the brace, it allows the ribbon connections to slip up in the corner of the top plate and keeps from stressing the connectors.
