That was just my feelings but most of the guys did upgrade to the T7600 and stayed with it. What I did was sit both 51's side by side and watched the temps . The T7600 was running hotter but still way below the danger zone. You would still be ok with it, if you already have it try it first and see what you think.

Yeah, I have the laptop but the CPU is yet to arrive. Taking a bit... Anyhow the laptop is very very nice condition, and only 60 hours. I am a happy camper. :)

So at risk of driving this further off topic, I have one last question:

Will this processor work? That last purchase fell through and I think this would provide excellent heat/battery life ratio:

Going by the info from Intel yes BUT since we have not tried it your guess is as good as mine. It has the 479 Socket and its 667MHz FSB is what you need. We do know that the 800MHz FSB will not work but this one has not been tried by us so let us know how you make out. How much is this CPU...the last T7200 I only paid $35.00 shipped. I have upgraded 8 or 10 CF-51's with the T7200 and they all work great (only 1 CF-51 with the T7600)

It's pricey one, very few made... Like $150 judging from ebay. But it draws under half the watts of any T series CPU.
