Brand New CF19CH

Hi everyone, I have just joined the forum.
I have just come into possession of a brand new (ok, it looks brand new) CF-19CH. There are two drawbacks though. Firstly I don't have any drivers, and my search using the hardware IDs have proved mostly fruitless. Secondly, the touchscreen does not work on the x-axis, so the cursor just tracks vertically up and down the left side of the screen. Not knowing anything about these computers, should I give up on it and look at something else, or it is worth fixing? if it is worth fixing, could you point me in the right direction please?
Hopefully it can be saved so that I can use it for a car diagnostic tool.

Many thanks in advance

What OS are you using on it?

Is the cursor doing this all the time or only when you are using touch?
If it's doing it all the time get a credit card out and clean under the edge of the track pad. You have dirt there making it go up and left.

Hello and welcome.
What is the full model number, and what OS are you using? I was just looking at the Panasonic support site at the one click driver bundles and I didn't see one for a "C" model.

Hi, I am using Windows XP, I did a clean install with SP3. The trackpad and any connected mouse work fine, it is only the touchscreen that has the issue.

I haven't been able to locate any non-dodgy drivers at all. I have heard that Mk 1 to 3 are very similar, so not sure whether anyone has any of those I can try. The model number is CF-19CHGCXBM.

Well, Mk1 and Windows XP do complicate things. There aren't any drivers except bluetooth on the Panasonic site. I checked Panasonic Japan, they have wireless lan also. Maybe Shawn or Rob might have some ideas. You might need to p.m. them. Good luck

What bios version do you have? They have two different bios versions for xp/vista. If you have the wrong version it could cause some problems.

The BIOS is V1.00L13

Thanks for the tip @Rich, I will drop them a message

Just remembered :pat: , at the top of the page there is a big silver square with an arrow pointing down. This is the download page. Go there, choose CF-19 and you’ll find a link to the XP drivers download zip file. That might just fix it.

Excellent, thanks Rich! so far most of them seem to be working, a couple are having a bit of an issue, but I am definitely in a much better position than I was
Thank you for your help
