I purchased a FZ-55 MK2 about a month ago. My desktop took a dump in my auto shop so I replaced it with my CF-54 which left me needing a new one. The model I decided on is FZ-55FZ008KM along with some added X-Packs. I can really tell a big difference from the 54's i-5 to the 55's i-7. I think I'm going to replace the SSD with a Samsung. I'm not too familiar with Toshiba SSD's but the articles I have come across the performance is sub par. I have many years experience using Samsungs and they have been rock solid for me.
As we all know about the upgrades from the 54, there are a few things that I wish they did differently. If you have to remove the SD card you better have small fingers or a pair of tweezers. As noted above you can't use a USB dongle and close the door. I really like that the stylus fits into a slot for safe keeping.
I have been purchasing my Toughbooks and other items from Mooring Tech for many years and could never be more satisfied. With them being local it was an added bonus. . It wasn't until this purchase that I realized that they are now part of Rugged Depot. I can only hope that the great things with Mooring Tech are being implemented by Rugged Depot.

Hey Toyo,

Yes, Rugged Depot and Mooring Tech are the same company now. We are glad to have Michael on our team as well as he's an ultra-elite Toughbook guy like myself.

Let me know here or via email if you ever need any help or support. With Rugged Depot and Mooring Tech being on the same team we can now provide even better customer service and support.

Thanks!
