Hello everyone,
I've got a question for you.
We've recently had an accident and the touchscreen was shattered completely. We've decided to go with a regular 14.0" LED screen instead of a touchscreen which could cost us $250+.
However after plug the 40-pin connector, there was nothing on a screen. Toughbook runs well on an external monitor. We've checked three LED screens and its all the same, a dark screen with working unit. After get in touch with panasonic.ca repair department we were told that the screen has to be a Panasonic branded. We are doing occasional laptop repairs but never heard of such thing. Besides those are the standard 40-pin LED screens and those are interchangeable panels. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong please?

thank you guys

What are the lcd part numbers?
Original screen part number ?
I can compare the pin outs.

I know a guy who should have a non touch screen from a CF53.

I had a similar problem with a CF 53 and attempted to replace a touch with a non touch (off brand ) LCD.
I never got the non touch to work. I think I had a motherboard issue.
I feel the graphics circuitry driving the LCD is a weak link in a CF53.

If I recall correctly, the CF53 uses a separate board as an "inverter" for the LED backlight. Most "off brand" laptops use the "inverter" that is built into the LCD panel.
