I've been wondering how and IF W-7 starter would do the 10 upgrade and how that would end up levelling out.
CF-29ET, CF-28ST, CF-30G , CF-M34, CF-19Ch, CF-19FH, CF-19CD, CF-73 mk1, CF-74K & H, CF-51RCB, CF-51RCL, CF-52CC .

As long as the deal is good for you it is good for me.

So yesterday morning I fired up my CF-31 and I am used to seeing the W10 nagware, but this was different. I usually hit no thanks or X out of the window. This window said my upgrade was scheduled for this Friday. WTF. I never accepted an upgrade. So now it just decided to schedule without my consent. I was able to cancel it and we will see if it comes back.

A little later our service writer asks me how long it takes this computer to update. One of our desktops, I went over to look and W10 was installing, all he did was turn it on. Once it was done and the AGREEMENT verbage comes up, I hit DECLINE and it reverted to W7. Very annoying that they changed things from you have to do something to upgrade to do nothing and it WILL upgrade. Especially on company computers that have to have W7 to operate special software. :pat:
I guess I'm going to have to take some time to find the nagware update, remove it and hide it again. Keeps coming back.

Just a heads up

There is a huge stink over this auto install.
MS changed the wording of the notification. You think that you are declining, but the opposite is what you are actually doing.
You really need to read the fine print to notice the difference.
Life will beat you into submission.

Below is a link on W7 / 8 on how to keep W10 off your Toughbook.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads ... ry.780476/
And for the one's that gave up and installed W10 read this
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads ... -1.779394/
and this......
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads ... de.781178/
I know that them threads are long BUT it's a good read. If you want to keep W7 running smooth then read it. A lot of members spent a lot of time working on it.

I also use this program on my W8.1 Desktop, and my CF-19 which is the only toughbook in my collection that runs W7. Never saw the Get Windows 10 app appear, or boot up my 19 at work and see that hideous W10 UI. GWX control panel works like a charm and I can run Windows Update without fear!
