NAVIT AND LINUX

Thanks Cleve (Grandpa).
If you all don't mind let's keep to the Subject. IOW [Linux forum][NAVIT]......too much time jumping around. What I mean is put it in the right place. I'm not complaining just doing housework.
GPS and Linux is confusing enough already.
For instance:
I found a distro that would run USAPhotomaps out of the box and M$ closed the map repository. Little did they know I already OWNED the county. (7 1/2 minute USGS Topos)on a 8Gb stick. But it only works for me.
If you'all have time and you have Navit posts...please cut and paste here. Please.
