Tablet Advice

I am thinking about buying a Tablet for field use. I am looking for something rugged enough for such application, either from it original construction of aluminium, titanium, magnesium, or even Adamantium... and/or a rubber or other armour case.

In regards to Operating Systems either Windows 7 or above, Linux or Android is fine. I have absolutely no interest in any Apple OS or an iAnything.

I am thinking a 8"-10" screen size, native Wi-Fi and availability of some Office Suite, but NOT Windows 365. I hate the idea of on-line utilities as I recognize it for the form of enslavement that it truly is.

I kind of looked at the DRS Armor X10, but...

I would like to be able to carry it in a BDU Thigh Pants pocket.

So, any ideas?

My old Nexus 7 32 gb with hard Zagg keyboard case has done me well for the past few years. I work on post Ft.Campbell so you can imagine the crap that sweet little thing has been thru.

Nice, I have an older dual core, thanks to a friend! But, too big to carry in the BDU pocket.

Very nice! But at around $500 on eBay, more then I wanted to spend.

Also interesting, I appreciate the endorsement of an older piece of hardware. Still, I think that I want something a little more current.

Thanks for the advice, it is helpful to my thinking! :D
