I just tried a Panasonic UJDA760 in a generic enclosure using an external power source.
I did work inside of Windows 7...
... If I get real energetic, I can swap a DVD burner in that enclosure and test it....
That will be after work...
Life will beat you into submission.

Shawn, I have yet to try one of my panasonic dvd burners in a generic case. Don't have a 19 YET to try it on as it stands. Can just try with a 29 or 73 or 74 or 30 or when I get around to putting it back together a 52. But eager to play. Again regardless I am not concerned about the boot up aspect. I an concerned about function after OS has taken control from Bios. After boot.

I understand.

I was making sure I was sending enough. 1 would prefer CF-19 over CF-74 but whatever works, works.

You will get at least two CF-28 caddies. I will make sure I have enough 51 caddies for my units and send you the balance. (51 caddies)

So yeah, send it and if we are still getting along we can fine tune later. :D
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Do you play with Dell products? I may use a Inspiron 600m for filler in the package. Hard drive is toast and wiped, good DVDROM. Keyboard o.k. booting Linux as we speak. Hmmph! Wireless is up.
Check of hdd shows install crashed maybe not the drives problem.....not going to play anymore. Decent battery.

Yea I play with Dell. Got a few D620's and D810's with batts, and chargers ect. For some reason I've accumulated A LOT of Dell crap. But that things more of a boat anchor than filler. LOL. Actually thinking about selling some of the D620's, a M90 and it's prettier XPS twin, with batts. Just to make room.
