Go here for another option..

http://www.panasonic.com/business/tough ... nloads.asp

Click on "Driver Bundles" scroll down the drop down menu for U1....
Use a generic Win7 DVD and then install the driver bundle.

Yes, but you will have to call Microsoft to activate it. It won't activate online..

Alternatively you can download the most current iso directly from Microsoft as long as you have a valid COA.

It's a sticker in the battery slot, it says:

WINDOWS 7 PRO OA PANASONIC

To get the download link from Microsoft you have to enter the COA first..So I ASSuME they will provide a link to a iso that matches the COA version..

Also. What is the model number of your CF-U1? If it left the factory with windows 7 installed it has the correct cert in the bios and won't need to activate over the phone. BUT if it did have a windows 7 COA and left the factory with the Windows XP downgrade it WON'T have the correct cert in the bios to automatically activate windows.

Windows site says:
Unsupported Product
The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.
Yes, It came with Windows XP from factory. Doesn't anybody know where I could get the iso? I don't think is legally wrong to share the DVD as long as I use my serial number.

May have to get a standard dell pro disk off ebay if needed. I have 32 bit pro and 64 bit pro versions I keep for reloads of systems, then I just add my COA info. They are about 20 bucks. There are SP1 versions as well as non SP1 versions.
