I've been reading that basically you can't. You have to do a full clean install

I have done it both ways but I do find it easer to do the full install.

Ok, I see now. When I did my 64bit install I was told to do a full install because I could not use any of the drivers from the 32bit OS...that also was 1 1/2 years ago too.

I can just try a different drive to TEST shared video memory, main memory and speed..
Probably better for a comparison anyway..

I'll have to do more research when I get a chance....My mind is running like a pinball the past few days....

You definitely can not upgrade from 32bit to 64 bit in Windows. There have been a few times I wish it were possible.

No can not upgrade from 32 to 64 bit.
The 64 bit will find a lot of generic drivers, as would a 32 bit install. However, at least for my 74, there are some drivers it can't find and Panasonic ones were for 32 bit and gave me an error that stated as much. But a 74 is an oldish machine so a newer one might find the proper drivers.
Trial and error.
