Samsung is prepping a second patch for its 840 EVO after a first adjustment has reportedly failed to fix the problem. The 840 EVO won massive acclaim after it launched thanks to a killer price/performance ratio and the use of SLC NAND blocks to boost performance across the entire drive. Like the older 840, the 840 EVO uses TLC (triple-level cell) NAND to improve storage densities while simultaneously reducing price.
