Modem issues

Team,

It appears that we just can't win... I really feel like giving up. I'm at my total and utmost wits end...

I should have did further testing with it before replacing the firewall ($49.90 wasted) a learning experience to say the least! The wanky connection is doing the SAME thing now as it was before with major connectivity and packet loss. I called AT&T

After spending the last hour and a half on the phone with AT&T and doing 3 factory resets we (The ATT tech and I (Which the AT&T guy was VERY smart believe it or not)) have determined that the modem is fine in normal DHCP mode. However, as soon as I program the static IP addresses it went wanky again!!!! He got his supervisor involved and they "refreshed the statics" on their equipment and BOOM!!! it fixed it!!!!!

OMG, what a rough couple months..... *KNOCK ON WOOD* all issues should be finally resolved!!

I also went through today and changed a TON of settings for registration and for SURE it appears that the spammers have stopped too!! *FOR NOW KNOCKING ON WOOD AGAIN***

Work is indeed a four letter word.....and reality seems to be a moving target

Random anger after a stroke is common...not much fun , but common....

Team.

Opening this back up. After 5 hours I'm having the exact same problem again... There is a line issue and the ATT guy will be here between 4PM and 8PM tomorrow.

This blizzard is killing us :(

Update:

I worked through the blizzard with no gloves on and strung new copper from the DEMARC into my modem and it magically started working perfectly fine...

I'm not saying this fixed it but for SURE something has changed.

Thanks!
