CF-52 Screen Downgrade; WUXGA to WXGA

I bought a CF-52 with a broken screen. The screen is a Sharp-made WUXGA display.
I bought an LG-made WXGA screen that claimed to fit a CF-52. I installed it without issues, and it lights up, but nothing displays.
I've reinstalled Windows 7 using the Panasonic recovery CD that came with the CF-52; nothing displays. **I'm using a VGA-supported monitor to see what's on the Toughbook, in case you're wondering how I reinstalled Win7.

I've read on other forums (that also discuss other Toughbook models), that I may need a new LCD cable, or the "correct" LCD cable. I've read that due to the BIOS, you cannot downgrade from a WUXGA to a WXGA. But I have yet to get a definitive answer as to what's going on with my CF-52. I'm hoping to get one on this site. :)

So, does anyone know what's wrong?

The screen type is locked in the BIOS. You will need the same type that came in it originally..

I already tried to do a swap on a CF52
