Well it is not a limitation of the OS, I am running Ubuntu 14.04 x64 on a CF-30 Mk2 and I have a 64GB XCHD card in it. I am using FUSE/ ExFAT with it. See: https://code.google.com/p/exfat/

My hope is that I can load the ~50GB offline wikipedia on a 64GB SD card.

I thought Shawn would know.

O.K....I researched quite a bit....and Azrial's answer is closest.

Ok so to try this I'm going to need to follow a procedure like this:

Is there a better one?

BTW, I saw some marketing literature that touts the Mark-5s as SDHC compliant. I think that means that device will not read SDXC cards (which all SDs above 32GB are, I believe). On a first pass of simply trying a 32GB SDHC in the in the slot worked, and a 64GB SDXC didn't, but that _could_ only mean that I've got to do the exFat stuff above.

Got it working. All I needed to do is format the SDXC card as ext4 using the Navigatrix/linux GParted utility.
