I don't even pretend to know so tell me if this will work in a CF-18,29,51 and if not the technical reason why. Never too old to learn.

Oops......
Have we ever found an ide ssd that will plug and play on them? No adapters and all that?

Yes I have used Transcend 32GB with CF-29 and Cf-M34 (1GB version) with Win7 and XP. On XP I use CCleaner to "wipe" unused space with all 0's and it acts kinda like TRIM to keep it working fast. Only found them once on Fleabay for like $50 each.
