Router

I seem to be having router problems again at the house. Looking at getting a new one. I have a netgear one that works but has to be manually reset from time to time. A lot more when it rains. The oldest boy set up a dell desktop as the router for wifi and had it where it manually reset. While I was gone this time he got another router and from what him and the girlfriend say about it, it just sucks.

Any recommendations for a GOOD router with wifi?

My provider is Centurylink formerly Embarq
I just got a fleabay deal on a Technicolor C2000T. (It's a rebranded TG789vn) It's sold by Centurylink and was plug n play for me. It's a VDSL/ADSL modem-router.
I did a lot of research and it gets good reviews..If you use it with a different provider, you'll have to manually set it up..

Centurylink has 3 different C2000's one is Actiontec 2nd is Zyxel and the 3rd is Technicolor.

The Technicolor business class modem/router/gateway/switch seem like good quality . I won't buy a residential unit of any brand again..They are all junk.

I've installed a few ASUS RT-series on Tomato. They're pretty solid.

I have the same router ASUS RT-AC66U and like it. What is Tomato? 3rd party software like DD-WRT?

I see I do have some googling to do on those suggestions, lol, I have thought about looking at some commercial grade stuff in the used market but wouldn't know where to start with out doing a lot of reading up on it.
