The first one is the guy from Canada I deal with, the covers fit ok putting them on but they stay closed fine and look good.

Knowing that Jeff rebuilds all his Toughbooks from the ground up I don't think he is going to put some junk cover that will not keep the water out or dust out. The ones that a China seller sent me to look at was JUNK. As most know I did a review on them with pictures. It's at the top of the forum...on my cell now so it's a little hard to add the link...sorry.
Got it

I had a problem with covers from China, too stiff and hard to keep closed. The guy in Canada is using a different material, seems to be a polypropylene blend of some kind. A bit softer and they close nicely, but there tends to be a little bit of flash on the screw end.
I used to work in plastics, injection molding.
I will take some photos tomorrow showing the piece and then the fit after install.....or soon.

I have done some buying from zig77 ,figure a 200%+ markup on his stuff, but he's OK and its factory stuff. I read your review and I must agree, same crap I got once.
Just for giggles,Rob said if you got a bunch they might change the mold.........that mold goes for about $200K here in the state's. Thus why the factory covers fit so well.

Still one big problem , the after market ones do not have the rubber seal around the cover.
200% markup ?? I wish. I sell mine on ebay for about $12.29. Now figure the $26.00 a month for my ebay store, listing fees , sold fees, PayPal fees I just added a little over $3.00 in fees + $2.32 to ship it. So that $6.00 port cover now cost $11.32 . The only way I can make money is when they buy more than one. Anyone that sells on ebay knows that these selling fees ARE KILLING US.

That's why I generally don't sell small items,I made a bunch selling battery covers for the CF-52 but the other stuff like port covers you are correct. The fees eat you up. I do good selling laptops but I have a small corner of the market I cover.
I pay out an average of $550 a month in fees to eBay. No store so I save there.
