Re: New LCD for CF-31!
I thought about going to a CF-52 and CF-53 but I really enjoy the fully rugged line. Not that I ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever (maybe one more ever for measure), ever need the fully rugged durability but I don't live my life to need. I typically live my life to excess. I love every part of the CF-31 (including it's bulk) with the exception of the screen resolution. I have a leather backpack I schlep it around in. Inside I always carry a USB external HD monitor for travel use. I can't imagine working on 1 monitor, especially with this god awful resolution!

If the CF-53 was fully rugged I might have swapped over. They have i7 support now too!

CF-53 is pretty rugged, especially with an SSD, and can be had with the bright CircuLumin touchscreen that works well outdoors.

Re: New LCD for CF-31!
I'm just the opposite,bought a mint CF-29 about 15 months ago,then a 30mk2 and now have about 18 fully rugged 19's, 29's and 30's along with 10 or so 52's and a couple of 74's.
I'm on a 52G right now but just bought an i5 Toshiba to replace it,I find I have no real use for them. I like the 52 and I had a 53S with 300 hours on it, they are nice but just don't suit me. A 52 with an i5 would be nice but costs too much,I'm an old cheapskate cuz I work at home.

About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a 52MK4 (i5) and it was nice but was not happy with the screen so I bought a 53MK1 (i5) and wow...the screen will blow you away. It is very rugged, I take it every where with me now and use my 30 less and less now.safn1949 wrote: I like the 52 and I had a 53S with 300 hours on it, they are nice but just don't suit me. Re: New LCD for CF-31!
Alright ....being honest here the 53 is super quick logging on and off checking the mail etc, but I find myself scrunching down due to screen height......it's like a CF-19 and 1/2. Very tough, pretty light and the touchpad and a half is good.
Speaking of the touchpad ...the synaptics touchpad is the reason I use a 52 most of the time. (carpal tunnel bs). (instead of a fully rugged)
Two cents

Fair for you/ Fair for me.

I gave up on 51 deluxe with UXGA display, at 1600x1200 the print is too small.
