Dell XT boot when lid is closed

I have a Dell XT tablet PC,it's the darnest thing in that as you close the lid,at the point you would expect the LCD to turn off,it boots up.

If it is already running,it shuts down. Then in a few it boots up....wtf?

You can't leave it with the lid closed as it will boot sooner or later, haunted. Now if I turn the screen and leave it in tablet it works fine. I kept it cuz there's no way I can sell it,it works great as long as the lid is open,or it is folded into a tablet.

I'm listening......... :wtf:

Check the power settings, reset to default for the plan you are running.
Check the BIOS settings, which you probably already have.
If everything looks okay, check on the Dell support site and see if there is a BIOS update.
No BIOS update, try re-flashing the BIOS with the latest.

If it continues after changing the bios battery, no big deal. It rides in my truck as a tablet in a mount running Delorme 2014 with gps.
