If you are missing your dock I might know where it is.

#!(Crunch Bang Linux) all updates done, finally. The 4GB disk looks like one of these pregnant ewes.

Thanks guys,

Here's how we finally finished the project:
I left Sadlmkr’s ranch this morning after a 42 hour Toughbook endeavor that included MUCH tinkering on the M33 project. Sadlmkr & Safn were key elements in final success along with Shawn's 128 mb RAM modules he sent. We never could add a Linux system via usb and CD, despite our attempts with Plop Boot Manager. We used the port replicator and Panasonic floppy drive that came with the M-33's. We finally had success by putting a system on the hard drive of a M-34, and then transplanting the hard drive into the little M-33.
Safn was a wizard dismantling the Toughbooks and then re-assembling the bootable hard drive back into the M-33. We settled on simple Linux distributions that work on the M-34 and CF-28‘s, and were delighted when they booted up and found Bell Springs INTERNET link. Just remember that the M-33‘s have a different trackball mouse setup. The top button is your “Left” click, and the bottom button is “Right” click that we are so used to.
Late last night we were frustrated and ready to give up, when Sadlmkr persisted and discovered the mouse protocol. Yes, a few screws turned up missing, so if anyone has access to the longer screws for the M-33, please let us know.
These little M-33‘s were named “nits” and “tank”. We would NOT have finished without the great grass fed beef from Brookings, OR. Take care and keep touch. :salute:
:headbang: Dudes!
Outstanding accomplishment by UNCNDL1, Sadlmkr, Safn, ADOR and greater TBT community!

So it seems #! is a good distro for M33. Anything special setting up the HD in a host M34? Believe the M33 can only see an 8GB HD.

I have a working Win 95 on an M33 but it can't do anything useful. A working linux distro is a huge step up -- Thanks!

Longer screws? I think the long ones out of the bottom of a 18/19 will work. I have used them before in a M34.

#! Crashed. M33 doesn't like GNULinux.

Luckily Cleve left me a hdd with 64 iso's. The smallest one is this one. Browser Linux.

Stand by for further. :(

That could be the problem as we are using 20 and 40gb drives in the M33. The drives are embedded in a gooey silicon caddy,of course along with years of unknown biological material. Yikes. :D

My mission is to figure out the terminal commands to load a .ima file on a floppy.

'cause we have a dock and a floppy to fit it.

Bull headed and want to use existing equipment with no switcho chango. (of drives and nastiness)

So there are 2.88 floppies yes? Even the 68 watchabyte Linux fills the 1.44.

Next step is to burn iso of Terminal Linux to a 29 or something and then copy the .ima to the floppy.

I research just barely enuf for the next step and then take the step.

The sheep miss Cleve. He was more forthcoming with the wheat thins then I am.

The only positive step I took today was burning a PlopLinux floppy. Which filled the floppy as designed.

I have two floppy adapters like this that are not being used. Got them for another project I decided to skip years ago. They use a flash based memory, but work in floppy drives. A lot of them were used to increase storage in older cameras. I have never tried to boot from one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SANDISK-Floppy- ... 234b0b0504

I think some of these cards can take up to 128mb worth of data with the right card. Maybe more.

I know sony made one that supported memory stick duo. And I have seen 16gb memory stick duo's I think they have 32Gb also. I have kept all of that in mind incase I needed if or the CF-25, 41 or 17 models I hope to get at least one done this year.

Jeff kept the one with #! On a 20 GB drive- Mine has stock 4 GB drive using MicroWattOS-
I don't have a power cord or WiFi card in San Diego to run it- will have so wait until Sunday- Maybe Jeff's problem is the larger drive or the OS- They both work fine on the 34's
