Looking at two more adapters. One is mini 32 gb ssd with female IDE hookups, I have already ordered the IDE male x male adapter for it. I am not sure about it yet. I also ordered a IDE to Msata adapter. very small and will fit any caddy. As long as speed isn't bottlednecked this should be a nice option.

I get home in a few more days. I have about 6 more options in the mail headed to the house. Mom told me I had a wifi card come in, I didn't remember ordering one going though ebay it was the 32 GB Msata card, lol. So at least that is there now. Going to have to do a chart and speed test this all on the same type of machine. Since I have three Mk7 CF-M34's I think they will work perfect and drop Windows 7 on them all.

I tried the Msata to IDE adapter in the M34 Mk7 and it won't reconize it. It reconizes the 4gb CF to IDE fine so I know it's not the cable. Going to try it in a couple of different machines. Don't see any master/slave settings for it.

I found the problem with the Msata I THINK. The one I got was originally out of a Dell, well Dell on some of there models the pin out is different. So I am going to order another one, make sure it's a standard intel one this time. I still think this would be a good option for IDE Hard Drive hookup as you screw down the Msata drive and there is nothing to bump loose. Length is less than half a hard drive.

The adapter should be the standard pin out, the pin out is different on some dell Msata's like for the dell mini 9. I just picked up a ramdom 32 gb sata for testing and it won't work, can't even seen it in bios. Finally got around to reading up on it more and seen a couple of others have ran into the same problem. I just ordered a 80 gb intel Msata for under 50 bucks.

I also have three SD card and two different dual Mini SD card adapters to compact flash with me to try out. I am hoping windows will see the adapter as a compact flash not a SD card and it will allow windows to load. On the IDE to SD card adapter it worked great, but could only load linux on it.

Just got through testing the Compact Flash to SD card adapter, Bios on the M34 Mk7 sees the drive but windows 7 won't. So it should work for linux because that is what was on the SD card before and it booted to grub menu just fine.
