After looking at a lot of the models I picked up the one my local gun store had today. It's a 16" barrel model, 38/357, 8 shots + 1, large loop, black finish, saddle ring.

I have run half a box of shells though it so far and it has loaded and worked well each time, so far I see it as a keeper. Have to get use to the larger loop though.

The action on it works pretty good, I will have to get with Jeff later on to get a couple of things made for it and it's companion 45LC Model 92 I traded for last weekend. (Older interarms Model92, 45LC, 20" barrel, small loop, no saddle ring)

Ill make a scabbard for the 16". Trade for the 20.:D

Behind the hammer in the tang.....one screw or two? I have some Lyman/Marble Tang Peeps. That would really add accuracy to the 16". (sight radius)

I have looked into the tang sites for them but haven't picked out out yet. There is only one screw on both of them. I think most people get them drilled for 2 though. I am still getting a feel for them. Too bad I have to head back to work Friday.

I really like the elevation sites on the old mausers I have, they do help out on long shots.

I have two NIB sights and some vintage. I'll show you a pic in a few days of my 92 32-20. Made the first year they came out. The barrel is a little smooth (riflings..black powder) 6 digit serial. Well used but it kept meat on the table for a lot of my folks from 18?? through WWII. A second hole is required. The NIB ones come with the screws. Rear one is a little longer than stock screw and the front one is short.
I'll send a pic or a link. Don't buy a NIB until we talk...I'll save ya a cupla bucks.
If ya find vintage sights, the number is on the bottom. Like W1, W2 etc.

I have been looking for one in older calibers like 32-20, 44-40, etc. The local gun shop has the ammo but not the guns. Hoping one will turn up before long.

I got some studying up to do on a lot of it site wise. I seen an original Winchester 92 at the gun show but I am sure I didn't want to know the price. The same guy does have a Frank Wesson 44 Rimfire carbine for 400 I have looked at. I need to look at the breach and firing pin better and see if I could get a sleeve made for it to fire 44 specials.

Getting ready to leave for work, get back with you on that shortly. Got to run to the post office and mail this 18 to Germany.

Seen a 357 Taurus revolver I liked but it had problems so I skipped it, but a 8 shot .357 revolver just sounds bad ass.

Off to work, (dam it, lol)

Has anyone else have any of the older single actions or lever actions in the old chambered rounds?
