How to fix a bad bios flash on my CF-m34 mk2 (400mhz)
On the tougbookforum of notebookreview.com i posted a topic about using an external cd-rom on my cf-m34 mk2. It seemed that the bios i had, did not have the option of using the external usb diskdrive.
The original bios of my cf-m34 was V2.02L14 M30
So, i tried to flash my cf-m34 with BIOS v201!11!12. (downgrading from 14 to 11/12). The bios i used was from the official toughbook website....
Everything went alright, and i got to the screen where i had to shut down the laptop and restart with the new bios.
Okay, i did, but then black screen of death.
I bricked my cf-m34.
I forgot to update the EC before flashing the bios.
Do you folks now any trick to repair my toughbook ? I read that some phoenix bios versions have an option to boot from disk and repair the bios... Any other options except buying a new motherboard ?
I spoke about my problem on the other forum : http://forum.notebookreview.com/panason ... ntjob.html

Re: How to fix a bad bios flash on my CF-m34 mk2 (400mhz)
Update: concerning the V201!11!12 bios. That is for the Pentium 3 - 400Mhz version. I have a Celeron 400Mhz version with SSE.
After 3 months of searching the net i still did not find the right bios for the Celeron version of the CF-M34 mk2.

Did you see this thread? There is a working link to a m34 mk2 bios there.

That link is for the mk2 Pentium 3 400Mhz version. I have a mk2 with a celeron 400Mhz (with SSE). Seems there are TWO mk2 versions. one with a P3 400Mhz and one with a Celeron 400Mhz. The BIOS of those two do not fix. I tried in the past the bios for the P3 version, and got a bricked mk2. Lucky for me, i still have 12 other mk2 Celerons left. But have to be sure that it is for the celeron version.

Can't you just make a copy of one of the 12 you have?
