ATI Dedicated Graphics

I have a Mk3 CF-51 and like it, but have been thinking of getting a CF-52 with dedicated ATI graphics. The card is a 3650 (I think). If you have one how do you like it? Does anyone know what the breakdown of the model number is for them so you can have a sure fire way of finding one?

Does anyone know if the CF-53 will be coming out with ATI graphics later on?

Thanks.

I have 2 - 52's , one is a MK1 and MK2 . The MK1 has the ATI and the MK2 does not. Which one is better is a good question. The MK1 is a little brighter but really they both are close . I do find that over all the MK1 runs faster. In the BIOS it list it as a 512MB video ram . In device manager it's a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2300. The panasonic config site is no help at all...it list no video card at all .
I also am running 120GB Intel 320 series SSD's in both of them...start up time between 25-30 seconds :D .

Model Number: MK1
CF-52AJCDDBM
MSRP:
$2,999
Description: Win XP (Vista COA), Intel Core Duo T7300 2.0GHz (Centrino), 15.4" WUXGA, 120GB, 1GB, 56K, 1 Gb Ethernet, Intel 802.11a/b/g, Multi-drive, TPM1.2, Bluetooth, Smartcard

Model Number: MK2
CF-52GFNBXAM
MSRP:
$1,949
Description: WinXP (Vista COA), Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz (Centrino2), vPro, 15.4" WXGA, 160GB, 2GB, Intel WiFi a/b/g/n, DVD-Multi-drive, No Bluetooth

Thanks. I will be getting a new laptop soon and still window shopping. Thinking about CF-52/53, Alienware m11x, or if that promised bonus the company has been talking about does go through a CF-31 with ATI Graphics.

I just need something with a little more boot to play some of the older games I have at work. I tried out my CF-30 last hitch, this hitch I brought out my CF-19 and have ran across the same problem with F.E.A.R. crashing at the same point at the game, may be something software wise I just haven't figured out yet. I mainly watch movies on the toughbook while at work, email, chat. But like to play some of the old games from time to time.

I have dug and dug on what graphics came in CF-52 and the 3650 was the only dedicated card that showed up in my searches. I tried the card you listed and got a few hits so that gives me something more to look for now. Some where down the line they must of upgraded to the 3650 card. Wish I had a model break down like the other toughbooks but haven't found it yet.

On some searches on the configerator I have had "ATI graphics" show up but no other info will show up. Guess I will have to start pooling all the CF-52 model numbers I can find and see what I can figure out.

The first one. I missed out on a large gap on pc gaming so I have been going back and playing some of the older titles.

Thanks. The disks I have ( 1-5 ) is part of the original set. It tries to update but fails. I may have to get the same game, but on a newer single dvd.

Back at home finally. Ordered FEAR 1 on one DVD going to try it out when it get here. Also going to try plugging in my external graphics card and try that out.

Toughasnails: on your MK2 CF-52 does anything at all show up in bios on graphics. If not that may be just the trick I am looking for. Just have to figure out next when they started putting the 3650 in them or what processor to look for with them.

Actually, the CF-52 MK 4 (CF-52SLGBD1M) is the one with ATI Graphics. The CF-53 will not have the ATI Graphics because the CF-52 MK 4 has it. This is because there is an i3 CF-53 (CF-53EJAZX1M), an i5 non-Touch (CF-53AAGZX1M) and a Touch (CF-53ASGZX1M).
