First issue already arises...

Apparently there is only ONE back-plane in the system that is good for the first 8 HDD bays... Looking into either returning the 2 extra hard drives or getting a back-plane so I can use the additional 2 drives as planned.

I hope they can get me a back-plane as I want that extra room on those 6 extra slots for MORE hard drives down the road...

Looks like it's $1000 more for another back-plane. Ain't happening! I will return the 2 extra drives and work with the 8 drives for a total amount of: 3899GB

We can always add that 2nd back-plane and 8 more drives later when we need it.

Another issue (Which I will hope will be the LAST)... So, believe it or not the RAID controller on this server does NOT support RAID 5 (Mind = blown)... this is simple stuff and I've NEVER seen a server that didn't support it so I just assumed that it would work based on 10+ years of working on servers.

Anyways, I'm checking with IT creations to see if they have one of these things: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-IBM-M1015-4 ... 3f2984636c which is what I need to "unlock/upgrade" the RAID card that's in there to support RAID 5. If they don't then I'll order one from Hong Kong and wait for the long shipping! UHG!

Next headache ensues!
