fz m1 serial port installation. the cable NOT GOING in the brown slot. any ideas ?

bought the fz m1 serial port from heartland
brand new kit with all the stuff required for the serial port to be installed.
practical issue.

You have to lift it up gently the brown lock on the connector around 2mm but be very careful on doing that coz it can easily be damaged if you have a heavy hand, lol.. them slide in the cable ribbon and then push down that brown thingy thing to lock it firmly.

Sorry! Is your problem has you have a wider cable ribbon?

Is that one copper trace broken or bent? #5 from the top edge. It can be carefully trimmed with GOOD scissors. IOW shorten the cable by 1/16"?
